PFI Plant
Power factor correction is the switching of the capacitors in parallel with inductive loads in the Network.
Motors, transformers and other inductive loads require reactive power.
Transmitting/distributing the reactive power from the power station to the loads is uneconomical. It impose undue burden on generators and transmission/ distribution system, causes additional losses, increases, voltage drop and the overall power requirement of the plant.
Economic and technical reasons thus make it expedient to relieve the generators, transmission/distribution system and able of reactive power. The automatically controlled capacitors i.e. Power king engineering ltd. power factor improvement (PFI) plant is well suited for this purpose.
Mode of Operation:
The control module of Power king engineering ltd plant contains a microprocessor based solid state relay, which continuously measures the reactive power in the incoming feeder. In the event of the actual value different from the preset value, the relay activated contractors to switch capacitors in and out in steps as required. The capacitor rating is chosen so that, on average, the required power is attained.
